Safi Airways Co. is a Kabul and Dubai based airline working as a subsidiary of Safi Group. It is considered to be the biggest privately owned airways in Afghanistan and came into existence in 2006 due to the efforts of Ghulam Hazrat Safi, the present CEO and Chairman.
The headquarters of Safi Airways are located in an administrative space in Dubai Airport Free Zone, Shahr-e-Naw in Kabul and a downtown ticket office in Deira, Dubai in UAE. It also holds the reputation of being the first airline from Afghanistan to comply with IOSA, ICAO and EASA which take care of the safety standards in the civil aviation sector.
Present Status and Future Plans of Safi Airways
The airline started its journey on 15th June, 2009 with flights from Kabul, capital of Afghanistan to Frankfurt in Germany. However, the services had to be terminated on 24th November, 2010 after the EU put a ban on all types of Afghan airlines flying to Europe.

Presently, you can find Safi Airways flights to destinations like Islamabad, Delhi, Dubai, Heart, Kandahar, Jeddah, Mazar-i-Sharif, etc. There are reports that Safi Airways is in plans to expand its route network in order to cover destinations like Washington D.C., Tehran, Mashnad, Frankfurt and Dushanbe. The present fleet of Safi Airlines is made up of Boeing 767-200ER, Airbus A320-200 and Airbus A319-100 aircraft.
